Apex, one of Cap City’s newest development projects, is located in the bustling Columbia Heights neighborhood. At Cap City, we are all about location, location, location! The importance of location was a major factor in the decision to build Apex in Columbia Heights. Located in central northwest DC, Columbia Heights is one of the district’s most desirable areas –especially for young professionals. With its proximity to Adams Morgan and Meridian Hill Park, Columbia Heights leaves little to be desired. Despite its revitalization, Columbia Heights has not succumbed to homogeneity, and instead remains one of the most diverse, and thus vibrant, areas in DC.

The larger retails are accompanied by convenience for residents of Columbia Heights, but fortunately they have not detracted from the neighborhood’s historic and diverse character.
Where to go in Columbia Heights? Well, getting there if you do not live in Columbia Heights is exceptionally easy, as the area has its own metro stop and great access to public transit. The area fosters its community fabric by being home to events such as the Columbia Heights Farmer’s Market. A popular Saturday destination for both vendors and residents, the market has become one of the most successful in all of DC and a source of community pride. Artisan bread from Girardot’s Crumb, fresh produce from local farms, and delicious Qualia Coffee are just a few of the vendors that grace the Columbia Heights market. This is a great weekly event to go to if you are looking to get to know what the community here is like.
Sticky Fingers Bakery is a local favorite full of vegan treats that attract vegans and carnivores alike. Grab a drink at the funky Wonderland Ballroom or the laid-back Red Derby. Julia’s Empanadas never disappoint, and RedRocks serves excellent pizza. While Target, Giant, and the DC USA shopping center have made their mark on the neighborhood, Columbia Heights retains its eclectic and spirited nature.
